Brazilian Philately: The Pan Am Zeppelin Flight of 1930

Louis J. Guenzel

Also this person owes his “fame” to a numbering system found on his covers. So far I've discovered three types of covers, all prepared ahead of time and having their own characteristic routing rubber stamps. These types are:

Postcards

Out of Rio canceled with the RdJ7ab version

Envelopes to himself and others using various airmail envelope types, two displayed here.

New York address printed on the back

But what connects them all (and perhaps further addresses I've seen yet) it the very characteristic routing stamp and the numbers on the covers. The routing rubber stamp with its lilies on both sides is unusual, and the numbers have a high degree of chaotic irregularity to them.

The router

The numbers

In this, as in any other case, I'd be very interested in hearing from collectors who might have further examples of these covers to pin down the systematic of this case.
